The Arizona State Legislature has again evaded taking action on a bill to bar discrimination in public accommodations, it was reported here today. The bill was buried in a committee.
Jewish sources reported that while the number of discriminating public places in the major resort area of Tucson has dropped sharply in recent years, there were still several such places in the area. There are numerous hotels and motels in both Phoenix and Tucson which bar both Jews and Negroes, they said.
