Commenting on the Franco-German armistice, the periodical New Statesman and Nation declared editorially today that no other word than “dishonor” could be applied to the agreement to hand over to the Nazis refugees to whom France had given protection. “That,” the magazine said, “may involve the massacre of some of the noblest men and women in Europe.”
