Army Department Denies That 40,000 U.S. Troops Are Ready to Be Sent to Palestine

The Department of the Army today flatly denied an assertion by Rep. Noah Mason of Illinois who told the House of reports he had heard that 40,000 American troops were to be sent to Palestine for keeping the peace.

The office of Secretary of Defense, James Forestal today categorically stated that there is absolutely no truth to a press report that he is trying to sabotage American policy on Palestine.
