Arnold Bernstein, Jewish former owner of the Red Star and Arnold Bernstein shipping lines, which were seized by the German Government, arrived in Hoboken today on the liner Nieuw Amsterdam to make his permanent resident here. He said he intended to go back into the shipping business. Bernstein served a 30-month term in a Hamburg civil prison on charges of “treason” and currency law violations.
