Arnold Eisen was approved as chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary. After Monday’s decision by JTS’ board, Eisen, chairman of Stanford University’s religious studies department, will succeed Rabbi Ismar Schorsch, who steps down in June from the Conservative movement’s rabbinical seminary.
