For refusing to permit the display of posters advertising the Jew-baiting paper, Der Stuermer, two managers of the Tietz Department Store were arrested here today by the secret political police.
The managers explained that they could not permit the posters to be displayed in the store because this would offend their Jewish customers and would affect the firm’s trade.

The New York Times yesterday published a report from its Berlin correspondent that a new list of 139 persons, mostly Jews, has been published in the official gazette of the Reich, depriving the persons listed of their German citizenship, though most of them were born in Berlin or other Prussian cities.
A report by the Associated Press from Berlin yesterday disclosed that physicians admitted to practice under German sick insurance laws are listed as “Aryan” or Jewish by the punctuation following their names. The names of Jews are followed by commas, those of “Aryans” by periods. Those “Aryans” who are married to Jewish wives are marked by semi-colons.
