Arrest Jewish Students for Part in Demonstrations

Participation of a small group of Jewish students in a general students’ demonstration caused the Kovno police authorities to issue a statement declaring “the Jewish students prepared to overthrow the government.”

The demonstration which took place yesterday was participated in by 2,000 students of the Kovno University. The students demanded that the government take measures to reduce the prices of admission to theatres and cinemas. Ten Jewish students were among those arrested. They are being kept in separate cells under the rules of martial law which was proclaimed
