Ask That Soviet School Be Closed on Sabbath

A petition requesting the authorities to close the Soviet Yiddish school in Bryansk, Ukraine, on Saturdays was submitted to the local authorities by the collective group, Red Star.

The Red Star members explained that they desire the closing of the school on the Sabbath because all members of the group observe Saturday as their day of rest.

A secret Yeshiva was discovered by the authorities in Romny, Ukraine. Twenty-eight young men were attending the secret academy of the Talmud.

Nathan Wilson has been named chairman of the committee of arrangements for the fifth annual dinner of the Real Estate Club of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies to be held at the Hotel Biltmore, on Weduesday evening, April 19, according to an announcement by G. Richard Davis, president of the club.

Associated with Mr. Wilson will be David Tishman and Benjamin Winter.
