An appeal “in the name of humaity” for moral and material relief for the German refugee body headed by High Commissioner James g. McDonald, a League of Nations appointee, was made by Professor Joseph Perkins Chamberlain, American delgate to the body, in radio address boradcast over WEAF last night.
It was the first public address Dr. Channberlain, a member of the Columbia University international law faculty, delivered in connection with his work as a member of the refugee body.
The latter part of his address he devoted to discussion of the “spiritual violence” which is foreing thousands of Jews and other victims to aecede to Nazi demands that they leave their bomeland. He said that “it is probable that the non-Jewish group of refugees will increase, unless the pressure at home upon them diminsished.”
