The first Southern radio program to feature a Chanukah celebration was presented over Station WGST, in the Ansley Hotel here, by Congregation Shearith Israel of Atlanta.

Rabbi Tobias Geffen, senior orthodox rabbi in the south, discussed the subject “What Chanukah Means”. His address was delivered in Yiddish.

Jerome Zimmerman recited the blessings over the candle light. Sergeant Spector, stationed with the United States Army Post at Fort McPherson, sang.

Others who participated in the program were Goldie Goncher, Peggy Jaffe, Jerry Sobelson, Estelle Miller and Samuel Geffen, who explained the significance of the Chanukah holiday.
