The few Jewish students who were enrolled in the Pathelogical Institute were thrown downstairs by their classmates when they attempted to enter the clinics on Thursday. Professor Buday, a Christian, who attempted to protect the Jewish students was similarly treated.
An attack on the Jewish high school on Aboyi Street was perpetrated, the attackers smashing all the windows before the police arrived.
In Debreczin the students have quieted down, the police have taken energetic action after it was established that several members of the police force had been beaten by the students. One hundred students of the University of Debreczin will be tried for disorderly conduct. The University of Fuenf-kirchen is the only happy exception to the general disorders. The Jewish students there were not molested.
A special despatch to the New York Times from Budapest reports that thirty-three Budapest students who participated in the riots, were fined $2 each, which many Budapest citizens considered a light penalty because workers who opposed the students were fined $40 and sentenced to fifteen days in jail.
