From the welter of confused reports reaching here it appears that 24 Hanganah guards stationed at a factory in the Manshieh quarter were disarmed by a detachment of British soldiers who arrived in armored cars. Before entering the plant and removing the Jews’ arms, the Britons fired on passing Arab vehicles in what appeared to be an attempt to incite the Arabs. An Arab mob attacked the factory as soon as the troops departed.
Meanwhile, attacks on Jewish vehicles in and around Haifa continue uninterruptedly, with Arab Legionnaires openly aiding the attackers. Two Jews were killed and four other Jews were hurt when Legionnaires fired on their vehicle.
