Morris Kentridge, Transvsal member of the South African Parliament, told a Zionist meeting here today that Britain’s Prime Minister Clement R. Attlee and Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin had convinced him, during his recent visit to Britain, that the British Government was anxious to come to “a reasonable settlement in Palestine” on the basis of partition. If partition had been accepted as a selution a few years ago, many thousands of Jewish lives might have been saved, he added.
