Two Arab states–Saudi Arabia and Iraq–today indicated that they will abide by armistice terms which may be concluded between Israel and the other Arab states.
Their views were made known today in a report by U.N. acting mediator Dr. Ralph J. Bunche on the basis of recent communications he has received from them in reply to his invitation of Jan. 30 that they enter into armistice talks with Israel.
The Iraqi Government said it would regard as “acceptable” the terms accepted by Egypt, Transjordan, Syria and Lebanon. The forces of these four countries were ?ost directly concerned in the Arab invasion of Palestine. The Saudi Arabian note takes substantially the same view in saying it will abide by the decision of the Arab League. By the Iraq formula, the four Arab states directly involved enjoy the majority decision in the League.
