Several hundred members of the Sydney Jewish community staged their biggest demonstration before a performance of the Leningrad-Kirov Ballet here. Chanting Slogans for an hour before the curtain went up at the Regent Theater, the demonstrators demanded that Valery and Galina Panov, former members of the Kirov Co., be allowed to emigrate from the Soviet Union. As the audience left the performance, they were greeted by a crowd holding placards protesting the treatment of the Panovs.
