The current issue of the Australian National University’s newspaper carried today an anti-Semitic attack on world Jewry. The writer of the attack, E. Cawthron, listed the aims of the National Socialists and the “obstacles” to be overcome to achieve “a new order” in society. He said one of the aims is that of combatting world Jewry for its “direct consequences of Jewish heritage and subversion of our Western cultural heritage. “
The article also asserted that “the evils of uncontrolled capitalism and communism have been able to take root and flourish” because of the alleged intrigue. Another goal cited was to maintain the “racial identity” of Australians and to avoid any “racial mixing with non-white people. “
In a written reply to a question in Parliament, Attorney General Snedden said that today Australian Security Intelligence “as a matter of course keeps close watch” on such organizations as the Australian National Socialist party.
Several months ago, a similar anti-Semitic attack was published in the University of Sydney Students paper, leading to a sharp public denunciation by the students organization against the newspaper and its editors.
