Efforts of Jewish organization to halt resumption of a violent anti-Jewish campaign based on ritual murder allegations proved unavailing today when Austrian authorities refused to intervene.
The Austrian Anti-Semitic Association, long dormant, renewed its activities today with a series of anti-Jewish mass meetings in various Vienna districts. Streets all over the city were placarded with propaganda for a book accusing the Jews of ritual murders now being distributed throughout Austria, despite the fact that the government recently ordered the confiscation of the book.
The mere fact that the anti-Semitic organization is permitted to hold mass meetings in a country which is subject to a strict Fascist control is held to be a sign that the movement is favored by the government officials.
