The Austrian Cabinet decided today, following a request submitted by the World Jewish Congress, to extend the time limit for filing claims under the third restitution Law from Dec. 31 of this year to June 30, 1949. The December deadline would have made it impossible for Nazi victims residing abroad to file their claims in time in view of the many technical difficulties involved.
