The Committee for Jewish Claims on Austria at a meeting today urged the Austrian Government to comply fully with its obligations towards victims of Nazi persecution under the Austrian State Treaty. The Committee stressed that the treaty came into force more than three years ago.
The Committee also called on the Austrian Government to substantially improve and expand existing indemnification legislation. Furthermore, the Committee emphasized the need to provide compensation for damage and destruction of Jewish communal property in Austria.
