The Austrian Government will ask Parliament to appropriate a sum of money as an advance to the world Jewish organizations to be used for the rehabilitation of Austrian Jewish victims of Nazism many of whom are aged and ill and cannot wait much longer for assistance, Austrian Finance Minister Dr. R. Kamitz announced here today.
Dr. Kamitz said that Austrian and Jewish experts were negotiating on the sum of money needed as an advance on the final settlement and that he would call for an appropriation as soon as they had completed their work. He said that as soon as the negotiators come to a settlement on all the Jewish demands draft legislation embodying these agreements would be placed before Parliament.
