Josef Afritsch, Austrian Minister of the Interior, declared yesterday that while the Austrian Government does not belittle anti-Semitic and neo-Nazi incidents in Austria, it is convinced that the Nazis are an insignificant minority.

The Minister told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent that Sorbe, the neo Nazi organization, was planning to hold a convention here in June and that the Ministry was seeking ways to ban the conclave. Commenting that the Austrian Nazis were “obviously” connected with an international organization, the Minister added that their influence should not be exaggerated.

Police in the Tyrol today arrested three men, two of whom are students, on charge of violating the law forbidding Nazi activities. The three, all 22 years of age, are accused of having recently painted swastikas on the walls of churches and stores in several villages in their district.
