After receiving a memorandum from the Austrian Resistance Movement, complaining that the Austrian courts and prosecutors’ offices are riddled with judges who meted out death penalties against anti-Nazis during the Hitler regime in this country, Minister of Justice Christian Breda oday ordered a full investigation of the accusations.
In the memorandum, the former resistance fighters named names of persons holding high posts in various juridical and legal posts. Among them were some judges in high courts, at least a dozen other judges, officers a of the Ministry of Justice, prosecutors, prominent attorneys, and law professors at some leading Austrian universities.
