A delegation of the demonstrators which went to Parliament was told that the Government parties were preparing amendments to the Victims’ Welfare Law and the Civil Servants’ Indemnification Law to cover these payments. They were told that the draft amendments provided for payments over a three year period and that 20 million schillings monthly had been earmarked for these payments.
