The split between the Radical Zionists and their Austrian wing led by Dr. Robert Stricker was made final here today when the Radical Zionist conference approved the action of its executive in delegating Dr. Nahum Goldmann, of Germany, as the Radicals’ representative on the political commission of the Zionist Executive, created at the last meeting of the Actions Committee.
Those opposed to Dr. Goldmann’s joining the political commission argued that the action of the Radical Zionist executive in this instance contradicted a resolution on political activities adopted at the last conference. This argument was overcome by the explanation that the political commission was appointed to supervise and check the Zionist Executive’s activities during the negotiations with the British government.
This completed the split between the main body of the Radicals and the Stricker faction, as Dr. Stricker’s group is definitely opposed to Dr. Goldmann representing the Radicals in the political commission. Last week the Austrian Radicals voted to secede from the main organization and negotiate with the Zionist Revisionists for a joint campaign to elect delegates for the forthcoming Zionist Congress.
