The Austrian government has asked the governments of Great Britain, France and Italy for permission to enlarge the Austrian Army by 8,000 men in anticipation of another Nazi putsch, which Austrian authorities believe imminent, it was learned today.
The Austrian note to the three powers asked for permission for increasing the regular Austrian army of 20,000 men by the addition of a special auxiliary force of 8,000.
