Authorities in Polish Town Order Removal of Jewish Tombstones Used As Paving Blocks

The local authorities in the town of Nowy Sajez, in the Cracow district, have ordered the removal of tombstones stolen by Nazis from a Jewish cemetery in the town and used to pave streets, it was learned here.

The labor will be supplied by Volksdeutsche who are interned in a nearby person camp. The monuments will be returned to the cemetery, which is one of the ##st in the Cracow district. The move was ordered after an appeal by the local Jewish committee.
