Max Rhoade was elected honorary president of Avukah, American student Zionist organization, at the concluding session of its convention here yesterday. Succeeding Mr. Rhoade, who served as president since the inception of the Avukah four years ago, is Samuel Blumenfield.
The convention unanimously confirmed the appointment of James Waterman Wise as national executive secretary of Avukah.
Regional mid-year cultural conferences were decided upon. The convention adopted the recommendation that the Zionist Organization of America, at its convention in Detroit, be asked to subsidize the Avukah in order that its work among college students be facilitated. The World Zionist Organization will also be asked to aid in federating student Zionists throughout the world into an international organization.
