The first British Broadcasting Company transmission in Hebrew beamed to Israel went out over the airwaves tonight. Dr. Mordecai Eliash, Israel Minister here, marked the occasion with an address in which he noted that “for the first time a great country undertakes regular broadcasting service in our language–the first time that the Hebrew tongue takes its place among the broadcasts of the world, to be heard day-by-day from outside the frontiers of Israel.”
