A goal of $3,410,000 has been set for the 1965 Combined Campaign of the Associated Jewish Charities and Welfare Fund, it was announced today by Irving Blum, general campaign chairman.
“Of this amount,” Mr. Blum said, “$3,025,000 will be sought for our Regular Campaign to take care of local, national and overseas services, and the UJA Special Fund will require an additional $385,000 to assist in the immigration of Jewish refugees to Israel and other free lands.” He stressed the fact that the goals set for the 1965 Combined Campaign were realistic figures, based on definite budgeted needs, and said: “If we are to meet our increasing obligations here and abroad, it is imperative that we meet these goals.”
The Combined Campaign is the once-a-year effort to raise support for 33 local, national and over seas agencies. Local beneficiaries include three hospitals, six social welfare agencies, three educational and recreational agencies, seven community relations agencies, and a migration service agency. The United Jewish Appeal is the largest overseas beneficiary.
