Second in command of the Baltimore division of the National Recovery Act blanket code campaign is a Jewess—Mrs, Harry O. Schloss.

Mrs. Schloss, who is president of the Baltimore Federation of Women’s Clubs, was named “lieutenantgeneral”by the “general”—Major-Gen. Paul B. Malone, commandant of the Third Corps Area.

In the campaign to put men back to work, boost wages and shorten hours, Mrs. Schloss arrives at her desk early. She started her part in the campaign by appointing a number of women to her staff to help in enlisting the aid of women’s organizations in the city.

The Rev. Dr. Morris S. Lazaron, rabbi of the Madison Avenue Temple, was named a member of a steering committee selected by General Malone.
