The Transversal section of the Nationalist Party may soon remove its ban on admission of Jews to membership, the Capetown correspondent of the South African Jewish Times reports.

Several members of the government, including Prime Minister Daniel F. Malan, leader of the party, are said to favor lifting of the ban, the correspondent asserted. During recent visits, he added, Eric Louw, Minister of Economic Affaire, found that the Transvaal ban on Jewish membership was a principal factor in misgivings felt abroad over the Nationalist regime here. He consequently favors lifting the ban.
