Baptism Among Hungarian Jews Grows to Alarming Proportions, Report Shows

Alarming figures concerning the spread of baptism among the Jews in Hungary were made public here by the Yiddish Scientific Institute.

According to the data collected by the Institute, during the period 1901-1905. 4.6 of every 10,000 Jews embraced Christianity. During the period 1919-1924, 34.4 of every ten thousand left Judaism. During the 12 years 1896-1908, the Hungarian Jewish community lost 5,790 through Baptism, while during the six years 1919-1924, 11,288 were converted.
