Berlin housewives mourned the loss of customary end-of-season bargain opportunities today following a government order prohibiting bargain sales in a number of products, mostly in the textile category, the Havas News Agency reported.

The ban, issued by the Economics Ministry, affected such articles as towels, linens, mattresses, pillow cases, umbrellas, carpets, draperies of all kinds and furs. In accordance with the new decree, there will be no price reductions on any of these articles.
