Barnett Janner, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and Labor member of Parliament, was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II this weekend. His name appeared on Queen Elizabeth’s New Year honor list.
An outstanding leader of British and world Jewry, Mr. Janner, in addition to heading the Board of Deputies, is also active in many other Jewish organizations. He is vice-president of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, a member of the executive of the Anglo-Israel Association, and a member of the Actions Committee of the World Zionist Organization.
