The amount of amp;#163;25,000 was distributed by Bernard Baron, well known Anglo-Jewish philanthropist, on the occasion of his approaching seventy-sixth birthday.
One hundred and twenty hospitals and various charitable institutions were the beneficiaries of his contributions. The amount of amp;#163;1,000 was given by Mr. Baron to the Jewish Board of Guardians of the city of London.
Mr. Baron also purchased a large house at Brighton which will be equipped as a convalescent home for his employees.
