Baron James de Rothschild, a member of the French branch of the internationally known family of bankers and philanthropists, who arrived here yesterday after fleeing from France with his wife and two daughters, reported today that the spirit of resistance in France was at its height.
Baron Rothschild, who has offered his services to DeGaulle, left Cannes for England in December when he learned that the Gestapo was planning to deport him and his family to Poland. He served in the French air force until the armistice and the German occupation.
