Baroness Alix De Rothschild Succeeds Mrs. Roosevelt As Patroness of Youth Aliyah

The Baroness Alix de Rothschild has accepted an invitation from Joseph Klarman, member of the Jewish Agency executive and Youth Aliyah head, to serve as world patron of Youth Aliyah. The Baroness succeeds the late Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt. The post has been vacant since Mrs. Roosevelt died. Mr. Klarman said he had discussed with Hadassah officials the question of filling the office during his recent visit to the United States. He said Hadassah, a major sponsor of Youth Aliyah, had enthusiastically endorsed the Baroness for the post.
