Funeral services were held here yesterday for Baruch Rivkin, noted Jewish writer, who died last Saturday following a prolonged illness. He was 62 years old.
Rivkin, who was born in Russia and came to this country in 1911, was the author of a number of works on religious philosophy. He advanced the theory that Yiddish literature had a Messianic mission, destined to reveal the most hidden forces of the Jewish people and the very essence of Jewish personality. He was a regular contributor to various Jewish newspapers, and during the last few years he was a member of the editorial staff of the Jewish Day. He was buried in the cemetery of the Jewish National Workers Alliance.
