More than 20 religious leaders met recently at the Paulist Center to lay the groundwork for an inter-faith task force on behalf of Soviet Jewry. Leading the discussion on “Christian Views of Soviet Jewry” were Sister Ann Gillen, executive director of the National Inter-Religious Task Force on Soviet Jewry, and the Rev. Gerald Strober, consultant to the Inter-Religious Affairs Department of the American Jewish Committee.
The meeting, co-sponsored by the Paulist Fathers, the Catholic-Jewish Committee of the Archdiocesan Ecumenical Commission and the Inter-Faith Committee of the Jewish Community Council of Metropolitan Boston, was one of a series of on-going inter-faith dialogues. Serving as chairman of the meeting was Rabbi Murray I Rothman, chairman of the Inter-Faith Committee of the Jewish Community Council.
