Ilse Koch, widow of a Nazi concentration camp commander and a war criminal in her own right, has been sentenced to a two-year term in a labor camp by the last degasification court in Bavaria. Her sentence, however, is purely nominal since she is serving a life sentence imposed by a German court which found her guilty of war crimes against Germans.
In Dortmund, five would-be Hitler’s were sentenced to terms ranging from six to 14 months following conviction by West German authorities on charges of forming a secret Nazi society with branches throughout the Ruhr. While the membership was small, participants included a number of fanatical Nazi Party leaders among who were some who previously served time in Allied war crimes prisons.
