Grave anxiety is expressed in Jewish and liberal quarters here over the fate of the Bavarian Jews, now that the anti-Semitic Fascisti leader Hitler rules Bavaria and menaces the Reich with the aid of General Ludendorff.
It is recalled that one of the Fascisti leader’s aims has been the expulsion of all Jews from Bavaria and that Dictator Von Kahr’s action in expeling foreign Jews and those that are alleged to be foreign was only a partial realization of Hitler’s wishes.
What the Bavarian Dictator dared not do openly for fear of foreign intervention, Hitler and Ludendorff, indifferent to public opinion, may not hesitate to do, it is feared.
Lack of communication with Munich tends only to increase the dark forebodings regarding the fate of the Jewish population in Bavaria.
Prioer to the Hitler-Ludendorff putch announcement was made in the Voelkischer Beobachter, Hitler’s organ, that Dictator Von Kahr had called a halt in the expulsion of East-European Jews.
