The Bavarian Parliament has approved a lump sum settlement of 20,000,000 deutschemarks (approximately $5,000,000) of Jewish heirless property claims. The sum will be turned over to the Jewish Restitution Successor Organization, which pressed the claims and negotiated the agreement.
Earlier, the Bavarian Senate had deferred action on the agreement which had been reached between the J.R.S.O. and provincial cabinet. The funds will be used for the benefit of survivors of the Nazi reign of terror.
