Because of his loyal allegiance to Israel’s ideals and faith in the eternity of Israel, Albert Einstein is especially endeared to the Jewish people, declared Rabbi J. H. Hertz, Chief Rabbi of Great Britain, in despatching a telegram of congratulations to the German Jewish scientist on the occasion of his fiftieth birthday today. The Jews have always shown unsurpassed reverence for their heroes in the realm of the spirit, Dr. Hertz declared.
In his message the Chief Rabbi included the benediction, “Boruch Shenatan Mechochmato Lebascar Vedam” (Blessed be who He Who gave of His wisdom to man.)
