Moses W. Beckelman, American representative of the Joint Distribution Committee in the Baltic countries, arrived here yesterday to report on relief activities. Beckelman, who has been abroad a year reached Lithuania soon after the collapse of Poland.
He conducted relief activities in Wilno, Kaunes and other cities before and after Soviet occupation until the Soviets ordered foreign Jewish relief organizations to liquidate their offices. Beckelman has also been in Kobe and Shanghai, where he arranged JDC relief for refugees there.
