Israeli Premier Menachem Begin’s visit to the United States will not be limited to meeting with government officials and Jewish communal leaders. He is also sa###led to meet with Jewish religious leaders. These include Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, Rabbi Joseph Soloveichik, leaders of Agudath Israel, members of the Rabbinical Council of America as well as with representatives of the Conservative and Reform movements.
In addition, Begin will attend the Tisha B’Av services and the reading of the “Eicha” at Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun July 23. The following morning he will appear on NBC-TV “Meet the Press” and on ABC-TV “Good Morning America.” Begin will also meet with Governor Hugh Carey and Mayor Abraham Beame.
