Menachem Beigin, leader of Israel’s Herut Party, today met with Senate Democratic Leader Lyndon Johnson, Republican Leader William Knowland, and Majority and Minority Leaders of the House to explain his views on Near East developments.
Mr. Beigin told a press conference that his party advocates the eventual incorporation of territory now occupied by Jordan. He said this would contribute to peaceful conditions and would be in keeping with Israel’s legitimate aspirations.
