Former Belgian Jews, now living in the United States, were urged today to contact the World Jewish Congress in New York concerning unclaimed assets.

The World Jewish Congress said it has been advised that considerable assets, sequestrated by the Germans during their occupation of Belgium and now held by various Belgian institutions, await claim by their owners or their legitimate heirs. Unless reclaimed soon, these assets will in due course pass to the Belgian State.

The World Jewish Congress here announced that it is in possession of a list of more than 200 persons believed eligible to claim such assets. This list is open for inspection in the WJC quarters in New York, the announcement said.
