Belgium’s prime minister apologized for the complicity of local government officials in deporting tens of thousands of Jews to Nazi Germany. Speaking at a ceremony commemorating the 60th anniversary of the deportation of Jews by train out of Belgium, Guy Verhofstadt said his country had to acknowledge and assume responsibility.
