Premier Ben Gurion again conferred this week-end with top-ranking General Zionist leaders on the centrist party’s entering the coalition Cabinet, it was learned here today.
After a one-hour session, however, General Zionist leaders Israel Rokach, who is Tel Aviv’s mayor, and Dr. Peretz Bernstein admitted that little, if any, progress was made. The final decision of the General Zionist Party on this issue is expected to be reached at a meeting of its executive committee tomorrow night.
A joint meeting of members of the Israel Cabinet and of the Jewish Agency executive will be held here tonight to discuss the problems of transferring thousands of Iraqi Jews to Israel and absorbing them into the country’s economy. The results of tonight’s conference will be reported to a full meeting of the Agency Tuesday.
