Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion lauded today the start of transmission of Hebrew language news material on the new radio facsimile circuit of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency between its New York headquarters and the Tel Aviv office of the Israeli News Agency, its Israel subsidiary.
In a message to Eleazar Lipsky, president of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Mr. Ben-Gurion said: “The beginning of trans-Atlantic transmissions in Hebrew letters represents an important milestone in the revival of our ancient language. I hope these transmissions will assist in the strengthening of ties between Israel and the Jewish communities outside of Israel and aid in the spreading of the Hebrew language in those communities.”
